Thinking ahead: Getting ready for summer break!

Nataly Rodriguez, Staff Contributor

With just a few weeks left in the semester many people have different plans for the summer. We have freshmen finishing their first semester, sophomores and juniors inching closer to graduation and we have seniors getting ready to go out and start their careers. This time of year is really stressful for many students, so to lighten some of the stress, The Pegasus went around and asked about summer plans.

Everyone is ready to head home and relax and not think of school, but many of our seniors who will be graduating in May are going to start their careers off. They are now balancing their finals and getting ready to apply to jobs or take internships to kick off their careers. Eureka College also has students going on a study abroad trip to London with Dr. Harlin to fulfill their Intercultural understanding for their 10 essentials.

“My plan after I graduate is to start applying to graduate school,” said senior Nya Love. “As I wait for those acceptance letters, I will start applying for DFCS jobs.” Nya understands that DCFS falls under the government and the process might be slower. Her back up plan is to become a parole officer where her family has connections to help in her job search.

“My plan for the summer is to prepare my mind and body for my senior year of college. One more year and I’m off to the real world! Adult life and big opportunities!” Daizjah also said she wants to experience adult life before coming back to school in August. She wants to save and work on rebuilding her credit and work hard to get ready for the next volleyball season.

Students try not to stress as the end of the year winds down. Try to get through these couple of weeks and prepare for those finals. Summer break is waiting for you. The Pegasus wishes all faculty, staff, and students a happy and healthy end of the year. You got this!
